Frequently asked questions

How do I calculate what I need on my final?

Use this formula: needed score = (target grade - current grade x (1 - final weight)) / final weight. For example, with an 88% now, a final worth 20% and a 90% goal, you need (90 - 88 x 0.8) / 0.2 = 98%.

Where do I find the weight of my final exam?

It is usually in your syllabus or in the grading policy your teacher or professor shared. If it says "final exam: 20%", type 20.

What if the result is over 100%?

It means that grade is out of reach with the final alone. Pick a lower target, or ask your teacher about extra credit.

What if my final is worth 100% of the grade?

Then your current grade does not matter. The score you need on the final equals the grade you want.
